Technology in the Classroom
Technology can be used in many different forms to manage behavior as well as helping teach daily lessons. iPads and cell phones are becoming huge assets in daily classroom management. In my classroom I plan to use a variety of technologies. I want to have a mobile lap top center or Ipads for the students to use. Having a Smart Board would be an awesome asset to have in class. This would allow me to show an entire class how to navigate around each page or app, as well as give students the opportunity to come up to the front and demonstrate an understanding of certain topics using the board. I feel as though it would create many team-building exercises and would allow students to learn from each others mistakes and accomplishments. I would like to give my students plenty of options to use technology during certain activities and breaks, on top of computer time at the end of the day if they had a good day. In my classroom I will not let my students use phones in the classroom because I don’t think every student will have a phone at the young Elementary level. Also, I think that allowing students to use a phone will cause a lot of distractions for the students and they might have trouble staying on task. Some concerns I have in the class using technology would be how I will monitor each student to make sure they stay on task at appropriate times, instead of wandering around the internet or playing games. Also, I feel that it will be hard to assist each student in learning how to properly use the many different kinds of apps that are available. Overall, I feel that technology will be a major asset in my classroom and can’t wait to see how far it can go in helping students learn!

Too Noisy is a noise app that costs $2.99. It has a digital noise meter that can be displayed in the front of the classroom for everyone to see. The teacher can set an appropriate noise level and once the classroom hits or exceeds that level, a ringing sound will go off to let the students know they are to loud. The meter has a "green" for good noise level, "yellow" to notify the students they are getting close to the set noise level, and "red" to signal to the students that they are being to loud. The meter is constantly running to let the teacher and students know when it is getting to loud in the classroom.

This app costs $3.99 and is very similar to the concrete version of having students pick a popsicle stick with activities or actions to act out on them. It can also be used to randomly call on student to make sure everyone is on their toes and paying attention, which would also help assess whether a student is understanding or struggling with the task at hand.
